1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Remove a mole is dangerous!<\/strong> Wrong:<\/span><\/strong> you can remove a mole at any time, if you skin mole is cancerous or irregular, it’s best that you have it removed surgically<\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 If a mole bleeds is always dangerous!<\/strong> Wrong:<\/span><\/strong>melanoma spontaneously bleeds but if a mole is cut (razor or other injury) bleeds like any other part of the skin. Always you must get a mole check up<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Exposure to sunlight is always dangerouse!<\/strong> Wrong:<\/span> <\/strong>exposure to sunlight has a positive effect on osteoporosis. You have to espose with moderation to UV, avoid the central hours of the day and long exposures.<\/p>\n

4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 You can\u2019t have two melanomas!<\/strong> Wrong:<\/span><\/strong>some patients may develop more melanomas, particularly patients with familial melanoma<\/p>\n

5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The sunscreen should be applied once a day!<\/strong> Wrong:<\/span><\/strong> the protective effect of sunscreen is time limited (about 2 hours) and after swimming or showering they should be reapplied.<\/p>\n

6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The UV lamps protect from solar radiation!<\/strong> Wrong:<\/span><\/strong> UV rays are very harmful, damage induced by UV lamps could play a major role in melanoma occurrence<\/p>\n

7)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bergamot allows me to tan more!<\/strong> Wrong:<\/span><\/strong> bergamot is a photosensitizer and its carcinogenicity is proven, so it must be absolutely excluded from all tanning products,<\/p>\n

11) Hairy Moles are Always Benign! Wrong:<\/span><\/strong> most moles with hair are benign, but there are exceptions<\/p>\n

12) Skin Cancer is Confined to White Caucasians!<\/strong> Wrong:<\/span><\/strong> most patients with melanoma are Caucasian, people of all races and colors may develop melanoma.<\/p>\n
