Digital systems and documentation
Digital systems can capture and store images for comparison over time. Whole-body photographs and dermoscopic images have complementary roles. System selection depends on the clinical workflow and follow-up plan.
What it means for the patient
An advanced device alone does not guarantee a diagnosis. Ask who interprets the images, how results will be communicated and how photographs are stored. Do not use accessories or software as substitutes for a medical examination.
